The famous South Tyrolean mountain climber Reinhold Messner has already opened 6 museums, one at Castel Firmiano/Schloss Sigmundskron near Bolzano/Bozen, in Solda all' Ortles/Sulden am Ortler, at Castello di Brunico/Schloss Bruneck in Val Pusteria/Pustertal, at Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, at Castel Juval/Schloss Juval in Val Venòsta/Vinschgau and on Monte Rite in Belluno. These museums deal with themes such as ice, mountain folks from various continents and the relationship between man and mountain.

Planetarium & observatory in Campo/Gummer
The planetarium in Campo/Gummer, just a few minutes' drive away from Nova Levante/Welschnofen, simulates the cosmos regardless of whether it is sunny, daytime or night-time outside. You can observe the naturalistic depiction of the night sky and planets and travel through space with the whole family.
The observatory in Campo di Sopra/Obergummer is unique in South Tyrol – you cannot observe the stars anywhere else on the planet as well as here. Guided tours are offered here for all age groups that provide interesting insight into the fantastic world of astronomy – simply fascinating for both adults and children.
South Tyrol Natural History Museum in Bolzano/Bozen
In the Natural History Museum's three permanent exhibitions you find out everything there is to know about how the countryside in South Tyrol originated, about the typical regional geology and South Tyrol's natural habitat. Two aquariums, a coral reef aquarium and the Nautilus aquarium, are two highlights at the museum. Special exhibitions enrich what the museum has to offer at regular intervals, there is always something new to see and discover.
Collepietra/Steinegg Museum
This museum of local history extends over three floors and 1,000 m², dealing with the village history of Collepietra/Steinegg, religious and secular folk art, agricultural and housekeeping equipment, handicrafts and living culture of times gone by. Here you gain an authentic insight into culture and the region's past.
